Our Duck Expert & What It Means

Broomsedge Rod & Gun welcomes Darrell McAuly as the new Head Waterfowl Manager and guide. Darrell comes to Broomsedge with over 46 years of guiding experience.

He was born and raised in Wisconsin and resided there for 20 years. In 1980, Darrell moved from Wisconsin to North Carolina and joined the Army 82 Airborne. He left the Army in October of 1986. Darrell became a waterfowl guide in 1986. He has been guiding ever since, including deer and bass fishing.

All of Darrell’s duck experience has been in open water, targeting divers and puddle ducks. He’s a member of SWCA and Ducks Unlimited (Diamond Life Sponsor).

Darrell looks forward to developing the Broomsedge duck program to its full potential. He will be developing three corn impoundments and working to enhance the existing beaver ponds and swamp areas located on Broomsedge farms.
